Metal Sourcing Services
Material procurement can be coordinated with a quoted fabrication project. Grade, form, finish, availability, price, traceability, documentation, and delivery timing are confirmed before release.
Let Us Handle the Material
Managing material suppliers takes time. For an eligible fabrication project, sourcing can be included in the quoted scope with the material and documentation requirements clearly identified.
Buyers Who Want Simplicity
One PO, one supplier, finished parts. We source the material, fabricate your parts, and ship them complete. No coordinating between metal suppliers and fab shops.
- Single point of contact
- Quote and invoicing structure confirmed
- We handle material logistics
Small-Batch Manufacturers
For a small batch, we compare available supplier quantities, stock forms, freight, documentation, and timing. Any sourcing advantage appears in the project quote rather than being promised in advance.
- Supplier quantity breaks reviewed
- Minimum buy and remnant options confirmed
- Stock position checked per RFQ
Quality-Focused Engineers
Need traceability or material documents? State the exact requirements in the RFQ so supplier documentation, chain of custody, cost, and availability can be confirmed before ordering.
- Document availability confirmed
- Traceability requirements stated upfront
- Specification reviewed before purchase
Materials We Source
Common sheet materials and selected specialty alloys can be evaluated for quoted fabrication. Availability and process fit are confirmed from the exact specification.
Carbon Steel
Specified sheet or plateMild steel, A36, hot rolled, cold rolled. The workhorse for brackets, frames, and structural parts.
Stainless Steel
304 & 316 grades304, 316, and other specified grades or finishes, with application and documentation requirements provided by the customer.
Aluminum
6061, 50526061, 5052, and other specified alloys or tempers, subject to form, thickness, availability, and fabrication review.
Galvanized Steel
Grade and gauge by projectPre-coated for rust resistance. HVAC ductwork, outdoor enclosures, structural components.
Brass
Sheet & plateSheet or plate for decorative and electrical applications, with edge condition and processing confirmed per drawing.
Copper
Sheet & plateSheet or plate for electrical and thermal applications, subject to alloy, conductivity, edge, and fabrication requirements.
Spring Steel
Various gradesSpecified grades for clips, retainers, and flexible components, with temper and process effects reviewed per part.
Specialty Alloys
On requestSend the exact alloy, form, temper, size, quantity, origin, documentation, and required date for an availability check.
Don't see your material? Send the specification so availability and fabrication fit can be checked.
More Time for What Matters
When sourcing is included in the fabrication quote, CMF can coordinate supplier availability, material ordering, the required documents, and the handoff into the agreed production route.
Why Source Through Us
We're not a material reseller—we're a fabricator who sources the right material for your job.
Quoted Pricing
Available stock, quantity breaks, freight, minimum buys, remnants, and documentation are compared. The project quote states the resulting material price; no universal savings are promised.
Right Material, Right Machine
Grade, form, thickness, temper, finish, and dimensions are checked against the quoted fabrication processes before material is released.
Simplified Procurement
When included in the quote, CMF can coordinate the approved sourcing route, responsibilities, logistics, and commercial terms.
Transparent Pricing
The quote states how material is priced, the validity period, assumptions, and any change conditions. Separate itemization depends on the project quote structure.
Documentation On Request
Need mill test reports, origin records, or other material documents? State the exact requirement so supplier availability, chain of custody, and cost can be confirmed.
Flexibility
Prefer to supply your own material? No problem. We're happy to work with customer-supplied stock when that makes sense.
Material Sourcing FAQ
Can you source material for my project?
Common carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum, galvanized steel, brass, and copper requirements can be reviewed for quoted fabrication projects. Grade, form, finish, quantity, availability, price, and documentation are confirmed with the selected source.
Do you provide mill certifications?
Mill test reports or other material documents may be available for specified materials, but they are not assumed for every order. State the exact traceability and document requirements in the RFQ so availability, cost, and chain-of-custody expectations can be confirmed.
Is it cheaper to supply my own material?
The lower-cost route depends on grade, form, quantity, freight, remnants, documentation, timing, and supplier terms. We compare available sourcing with customer-supplied material when the project allows it; no pricing advantage is guaranteed.
What if I need a specialty alloy you don't stock?
Specialty-alloy availability varies by grade, form, temper, size, quantity, origin, documentation, and required date. Send the exact specification so supplier availability, fabrication fit, price, and lead time can be checked.
How is material cost shown on quotes?
Quote structure is confirmed per project. Where material is separately itemized, the quote states the applicable price, validity, assumptions, and any change conditions before the order proceeds.
Can you match a specific material grade I'm currently using?
Send the complete material specification and available records. A sample alone may not establish grade or condition, and no substitute is treated as equivalent without customer or design-authority approval.
Let Us Source Your Next Project
Send the material specification, form, size, quantity, origin or traceability needs, documentation requirements, fabrication files, and required date. Sourcing and production routing will be confirmed in the project quote.
